RINN Jewellery Collection

I was born into an artistic family, my father being a well-known art historian, painter and academic professor. Under my family’s influence, I was sent to live in Daitoku-ji temple in Kyoto when I was 17 years old, and I practised Zen for 3 years, while I was attending art university. Meanwhile, I also learned traditional Japanese tea ceremony for several years, at the Urasenke tea school.

During this time, I naturally developed a deep interest in both traditional and contemporary art, and acquired a keen artistic sensibility and appreciation of fine art and crafts. From the early 1990s, I became involved in a Kyoto group dedicated to art appreciation and collecting, until I moved to the UK. I then studied History of Art and Archaeology of East Asia at SOAS, University of London. in 2014, I successfully founded the first Chinese fine art auction company in the UK. Since then, I have been working as an art consultant for collectors and artists. Now, I am very pleased that I have found a new challenge which was inspired by my daughter and family. I am going back to the fields of art creativity and innovation as a producer, bringing sustainable materials together with distinctive craftsmanship to create new artworks. My mission is to make my personal contribution to the artistic environment by supporting artists and craftsmen.
